In Australia, 1 in 5 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers experience postpartum depression within the first year of parenthood, affecting approximately 100,000 families annually (PANDA)
The Ode to a Mother Project aims to make a meaningful difference in these statistics, helping to reduce their impact and supporting new parents as they navigate the challenges of early parenthood. Our goal is to ensure that no parent feels alone during this transformative journey.
All profits made from Nicora funds this community initiative.
Caring for a baby without a support network can feel isolating and overwhelming. Our service offers new parents an extra pair of hands during the critical transition of bringing their baby home. Our team provides professional, patient, and empathetic care, with complete privacy and confidentiality.
How It Works
Nali is the founder of both Nicora and Ode to a Mother, and brings a diverse range of qualifications to her work, including certification in postpartum transition coaching. She begins with an initial consultation to introduce herself and her programme. During this meeting, she partners with the parent to clarify expectations and ensure that all safety and wellbeing considerations are carefully addressed before services begin.
A team of skilled professionals are hired through Ode to a Mother and are tailored to each client’s individual needs. During the services it is expected that just the mother, infant and Team Member are present. Our program offers in-home visits once a week for up to two hours, for upto 4 weeks if required.
Cost of the Service
We understand the financial pressures new parents face, which is why the Ode to a Mother Project is completely free. Nicora privately funds this initiative, with proceeds from each sale contributing to the costs of our Support Workers. This allows parents to prioritise their recovery, self-care, and time with their baby without added financial stress.
